Unless you are working for a company of one, you are working as a team to get a job done. You may be working in a department or line of two or 52 but no matter the number your job affects multiple aspects of the company. You could be building a car, working in construction, or at a plastics factory but wherever you are placed you are working on a task that is bigger than you. Your job and how well you do it affects someone else. After all, teamwork isn’t something that just takes place in a sporting event.

When you are able to work with a group of individuals on a specific job you are able to finish the task faster than if you were trying to complete the job by yourself. Morale

When individuals have a group or team that they are assigned to they feel a greater sense of responsibility than if they were working alone. A team is there to cheer you on and push you to be your best. Belonging to something will boost an individual’s morale and give them a sense of appreciation for others that they otherwise may not have had.

Builds relationships

When you are working with a team you are able to build relationships with other individuals. You are trusting your teammates to get the job done and have to communicate issues. You are also able to ask questions if you don’t understand something which in turn builds trust with that individual on your team.

Builds your resume

You know what’s great about working with a team? You are growing your network! The more people you have the opportunity to work with the more people that can vouch for you and your skills. This means that if a new opportunity opens up and you need references the people you’ve worked with or for can recommend you. Not only that, but you have the opportunity to learn from these individuals.
